Editing and session recording

When you open a picture, the editor processes it on your device. That does not mean it stays only on your device. Session recording is currently enabled on the online editor to help us find errors and improve the product.

Recordings include clicks, pointer movement, keyboard events, tool choices, editing commands, text entered into unmasked fields, file names, errors and timing. They can also include copies of images you open: currently up to six files per session, each up to 16 MiB. We can reconstruct these recordings as videos and view the image content. Password and email input fields are masked by the recorder; other typed or image content can still contain personal information. Do not open confidential or sensitive material unless you are comfortable with this collection.

Usage and device information

We collect feature use, performance and error information, browser and device details, screen size, language, time zone, referring site and approximate location derived from network information. Random browser and session identifiers stored on your device help us connect events. These are not guaranteed to identify a person across devices. Our hosting providers also process network information, such as IP addresses, to serve and protect the site.

Ads and advertising choices

Ads fund the free editor. We are connecting Google AdSense to serve ads and report impressions, visibility, clicks and estimated earnings. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, local storage, IP addresses and device information to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads where permitted. Where available, the Google consent message lets you accept, reject or manage advertising choices. Advertising consent does not constitute consent to our session recording. We do not send replay files, image pixels or editing text as advertising targeting fields. An ad-free plan removes ad placements; it does not currently disable product diagnostics or session recording.

Accounts, AI and cloud storage

Signing in sends account information to our server. If you use an available AI feature, your prompt and attached reference images are sent to the generation service. Documents explicitly saved to cloud storage are uploaded. Local recovery copies are stored in your browser; they are separate from online session recordings.

Storage, access and deletion

Replay events are stored on our server, replay image files in Cloudflare R2, and rendered replay videos on our server. Replay access is restricted to administrators. Hosting and service providers process information needed to operate these services. There is currently no automatic deletion schedule for replay data; it remains stored until manually deleted. Closing the tab or clearing browser storage does not delete copies already uploaded.
