Keyboard shortcuts

The complete PhotoFresco shortcut reference for macOS and Windows/Linux — including honest notes on the chords your browser reserves for itself.

PhotoFresco follows Photoshop's muscle memory wherever the browser allows it. This page is generated from the same data as the in-app reference (Help ▸ Keyboard Shortcuts…, or the keyboard icon in the top-right corner), so the two never disagree.

One honest caveat up front: a browser tab cannot use every chord a desktop app can — the browser claims a few for itself (new tab, new window, reopen tab). Those rows are marked with below and show the chord that actually works in a tab; the full story is in the Browser-reserved shortcuts section. Installing PhotoFresco as an app (from your browser's install menu) frees up ⌘T / Ctrl+T for Free Transform, just like the desktop apps you're used to.

Browser-reserved shortcuts

PhotoFresco runs in a browser tab, and the browser claims a few classic Photoshop chords for itself before the page ever sees them. Rows marked above list the chord that actually works in a tab; the classics behave like this:

Free Transform⇧TMacShift+TWin

Photoshop’s ⌘T / Ctrl+T is browser-reserved — it opens a new browser tab, so PhotoFresco uses Shift+T instead.

Transform Again⇧⌥⌘TMacCtrl+Shift+Alt+TWin

Photoshop’s ⇧⌘T / Ctrl+Shift+T is browser-reserved — it reopens a closed browser tab, so it is unreliable in a normal tab. Use the alternative.

New DocumentFile ▸ NewMacFile ▸ NewWin

Photoshop’s ⌘N / Ctrl+N is browser-reserved — it opens a new browser window — the menu is the reliable path in a normal tab.

Tips

  • Tool shortcuts are single letters (B for Brush, M for Marquee…) — press Shift + the letter to cycle within a tool group. The full map is in the Tools reference.
  • During a Free Transform, Enter commits and Esc cancels. The same pair finishes or abandons pen paths and polygonal/magnetic lassos (with Backspace deleting the last point).
  • The in-app shortcuts panel is searchable — press the keyboard icon in the top-right of the editor and just start typing.
